EV Test-Bed Singapore

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Test Bed project got underway in Singapore on June 25, 2011. The aim of the project is to develop and test various EV prototypes and charging technologies as the basis for providing the best electric vehicle charging infrastructure for Singapore.

Bosch Software Innovations designed the charging infrastructure for the EV Test Bed and is running it for Singapore. In the initial phase Bosch is installing 26 charge spots; as the number of electric vehicles increases, it will expand the network to the currently planned final status of 63 charge spots.

The CEPAS Card (Contactless e-Purse Application) will be used for identification at the charge spots and billing of battery-charging events. The CEPAS Card is also widely used as a means of payment for bus, metro and taxi travel, road charges, parking, shopping, and other services.

A common characteristic of Bosch eMobility solutions is that they are designed as an open business ecosystem; in Singapore, too, other charge spot manufacturers and partners will be integrated in the solution.
