Electromobility at Robert Bosch GmbH locations

Since June 2011, Robert Bosch GmbH has been making electromobility feasible for its associates: they can now charge their electric vehicles at the company’s Abstatt, Feuerbach, Reutlingen, Schwieberdingen, Schillerhöhe, Waiblingen, Bamberg, and Bühl sites.

Bosch is installing networked charge spots for electric vehicles at these company locations. Bosch Software Innovations is supplying the entire system, comprising charge spots and the software to administer them including billing of battery-charging events.

Between journeys, associates can charge up the company electric vehicles at the charge spots. A total of eight Bosch-owned electric vehicles are available. In the future, associates will be able to fill up their own electric cars with electricity while at work.

The project will give Bosch as an eMobility infrastructure provider further knowledge and experience of the installation of charge spots. It will also provide information on typical battery-charging cycles and on the degree of acceptance of electromobility in different scenarios.
