Rule Based Document Management

atori GmbH integrates the Visual Rules business rules system into its JAS product line
As a special vendor, atori develops solutions for automated document processing and business process optimization without media discontinuity. In order to control document processing based on rules atori has integrated the Visual Rules business rules system into its product line.
System independent and process controlled document management
The JAS product line is an archive, document management and workflow system. JAS is used to intelligently manage, distribute, edit and publish documents. This is done across systems and subject to defined processes using the technical tool, JAS creator.
Integration of Visual Rules into JAS creator
JAS creator handles automated document processing. In technical terms, it creates a uniform communications layer that manages the process-controlled transfer of modified information between heterogeneous systems. Automation improves quality and reduces the time and costs of processing electronic documents. JAS creator contains four modules:
The DataSource module reads all information from a data source. The DataRecaster processes the information present. It changes and adds information from other data sources. The processing rules are graphically modeled in detail using the integrated Visual Rules business rules engine. The rule models transparently map business logic and are reproducible at any time. Modeled business logic can be quickly and easily adapted to new requirements or processing conditions, increasing the efficiency of automated document processing.
Summary
The combination of JAS creator and Visual Rules allows the rules for processing documents to be defined even more quickly and clearly. The graphical rule models are clearly structured in their execution, making them easy to maintain. Using the rules defined in Visual Rules, JAS creator provides cross-system process control for document processing.
