SBB Telecom required a solution that could handle the rising order quantities in the area of railway communications while maintaining the necessary quality and service times:

For our customer IDEAL, its partners are the actual customers. In order to be able to offer them the broadest array of services, it is necessary to be able to process highly dynamic sales processes in real-time:

The extensive product range of the leading specialist wholesale company leads to an annual total of some 130,000 incoming invoices, which previously could only be verified in detail on a random sampling basis. In order to systematically verify the correctness of incoming commercial invoices, the processes were to be automated:

Initial situation:

DHL delivers post in North America. However, US Postal Service has a monopoly on delivery for the last mile, which means that all parcels must be handed over to the USPS once they are in the vicinity of the recipient. The total cost of parcel delivery is thus determined by DHL’s costs added to the USPS charges. The USPS offers complex, frequently changing discount schemes that DHL can use to its advantage. However, DHL faces the risk of substantial fines if these are incorrectly applied. Applying the rules had been a costly and time-consuming business, not to mention the risk of penalty payments.

Originally, the formulae for producing different grades of steel of our customer thyssenkrupp were programmed in one of the steel plants (ASSEMBLER or FORTRAN) and implemented in the level-2 systems as part of the application code.
