Munich City Utilities and Bosch Software Innovations: Full service for metering point operators
As a result of a tender, the Munich City Utilities decided for Bosch Software Innovations as their software partner. Bosch´s metering software solutions (Meter Gateway Manager, Metering Data Hub and Rollout Process Manager) enable highly automated operations of Smart Meter Gateway Administration.
In addition to the use of the software solution for the SWM network area, close cooperation is planned. The aim of the cooperation will be to combine the expertise of both companies in the field of smart metering and to offer their technology and service portfolio from a single source across the energy branch.
Further Munich City Utilities will provide all other necessary services for intelligent metering systems, depending on individual customer requirements: gateway administration, procurement, logistics, meter data management, billing and necessary telecommunications solutions. The focus here is on the efficient handling and design of the introduction of intelligent metering systems as well as on the creation of innovative and value-added digitalized solutions.
Our Smart Meter Gateway Administration as a Service is certified according to ISO 27001
In December 2016, Bosch Software Innovations received the ISO 27001 certificate for "Operation and Support of Cloud Services" in general and Smart Meter Gateway Administration as SaaS in particular from DQS. The minimum specifications of the TR-03109-6 required by the legislator have been taken into account in the SoA (Statement of Applicability) of the certificate.
For many energy suppliers and metering point operators, Software as a Service (SaaS) is an alternative to the development of own IT structures. By using our SaaS certified according to ISO 27001, you can significantly reduce your own efforts to build and operate an information security management system (ISMS), since the certificate from Bosch Software Innovations largely covers your certification object. The purchase, construction and operation of servers and a BSI-compliant Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) are also not required when using our offer.
What is your part? It is your task, for example, to implement security precautions for the workplace of your SMGW administrators (secure access), the technical infrastructure for SaaS use, and the gateway infrastructure. This gives you the opportunity to focus on your core business, Smart Meter Gateway Administration, and create new value-added potentials and business models based on the meter values.

Multi utility, controllable loads and grid ancillary swarm switches for the energy transition
How can energy supply be environmentally friendly, safe and affordable despite of a high proportion of renewable energy? This is the leading question of the funding project WindNODE by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.
We are one of the companies that actively shape the project. Our objectives are efficient and safe grid operations with high proportions of renewable energies and the reduction of necessary grid expansion in the distribution grid. The basis are our solutions for Smart Meter Gateway Administration and Meter Data Management, which are aligned to meet the requirements of multi utility metering (e.g., gas, water).
The network parameter data of metering systems and the measured values of decentralized resources are to be used for monitoring and stabilizing low-voltage network strings. Based on this first-time transparency, the Virtual Power Plant Manager is used to calculate forecasts for the low-voltage grid and to actively control decentralized resources. Our software reduces the load on the grids caused by the feed-in of renewable energy, thus reducing grid expansion costs.
In order to be able to implement grid ancillary swarm switches for the stabilization of the grid, it is necessary to reconcile the prognosis for the state of the transmission grid and the effective performance of the decentralized resources. If the results is, for example, that the power of the systems is to be throttled, the communication can take place NP2M in order to stabilize the grid within seconds.

Until recently, only few electricity customers changed their metering service provider. In preparing itself for the future, Allgäuer Überlandwerk, with the support of Bosch Software Innovations, has automated the WiM processes (Change Processes in Measurement). The company has already benefited from this move with a halving of the case processing time alongside process quality that is manually unachievable.
ewz - Elektrizitätswerk der Stadt Zürich
ewz, the electricity provider of the city of Zurich, relies on inubit to handle change of supplier processes in line with market standards and as transport medium for external communication of metering and energy data. With inubit, ewz meets the changing requirements on the Swiss energy market while profiting from preconfigured process packages for the energy industry and its powerful integration capability for networking heterogeneous IT systems.
NCG - NetConnect Germany
NetConnect Germany has chosen inubit BPM as the central process platform for communication and data exchange with the market partners of its market area. The universal platform connects all systems and consolidates the work processes of distributed teams. Automated error checks have significantly reduced the amount of manual work and minimized the general error rate in data transfers.

In the Smart Grid sub-project, Bosch Software Innovations and its project partners developed a Virtual Power Plant for monitoring power generation of PV systems and pools, load management for charging infrastructure of electric vehicles, and control & energy management of in-house consumers.
