Chicago, Bogotá - Bosch Software Innovations today announced that its Visual Rules BRM software has been selected by Casa Editorial El Tiempo to calculate the disbursement of sales commission for advertising revenue. El Tiempo is one of the most respected South American media groups and publisher of the largest newspaper in Colombia. Integrated into the IT-infrastructure, the business rules product replaces a tedious Excel-based calculation model and establishes in real-time commission for the entire sales staff.

“Prior to the implementation of Visual Rules, we were forced to determine the sales commission manually using an error-prone Excel model,“ says Ugo Albarello, Business Architect at El Tiempo Casa Editorial. “Visual Rules did not only shorten the process from four days to two hours, it also provides us with quality data.”

Visual Rules sits at the heart of El Tiempo’s calculation tool and pulls vast amounts of data from various internal data sources to calculate the commission for more than 250 advertising sales executives. Each employee has an individual commission model which is subject to frequent changes. By using business rules instead of an Excel-based model, changes are implemented automatically and results are available in real-time.
