Agile business processes for the Financial Services sector - rule-based optimized

entory AG integrates Visual Rules in consulting portfolio

Ettlingen/ Immenstaad, 06/02/2006 -

entory AG, a company of the Softlab Group, and Innovations Softwaretechnologie GmbH announce their strategic partnership. Together both companies want to enable financial service providers to more quickly and efficiently adjust core business processes to changed market factors. entory has already successfully employed Innovation`s Visual Rules Business Rules Management System (BRMS) in initial joint projects. For a large capital investment company rule-based, agile business processes were established in the implementation of a new investment fund accounting system.

In doing so, the transparent mapping and flexible modeling of business rules is of central importance for the design of efficient end-to-end processes.

Visual Rules makes possible agile business processes on the basis of easily understandable, flexible and transparent business rules. This significantly reduces the time and effort required in developing and customizing business process solutions. This is because business rules can now be quickly entered, visualized and easily modified.

entory - specializing in IT solutions for financial service providers for over 25 years - possesses the necessary combination of banking, methodological and technological expertise to attain the maximum added value for customers and their business processes with Visual Rules.

Hagen Buchwald, Member of the Executive Board of entory AG, explains the reasons for the strategic partnership with Innovations: "Business rules play an exceptionally important role in the optimization of business processes. The simpler they can be graphically mapped and modeled, the more flexible the process becomes. This is why we decided to enter into cooperation with Innovations, whose Business Rules Management System offers exactly this advantage."

More efficient mapping of business rules through a graphical modeling approach

The integrated graphical modeling approach makes it possible to flexibly change the business logic contained in the original code of an application. The graphical model of business logic developed together with the customer is automatically transformed into executable rule code. This significantly shortens the conception stage in the development of customer oriented software solutions, while the quality of business logic is sustainably increased. Automatic tests in the graphical model also contribute to a noticeable reduction in the time and effort spent testing.

Bridges between business analysts and IT

By employing Visual Rules as a common platform cooperation among IT and business analysts in the company can be sustainably optimized. The graphical mapping and easy modeling of business rules enable close coordination of both fields in the development process. Pursued consistently, the approach even allows the business analyst to make modifications to business rules on its own.

Thomas Cotic, Visual Rules Managing Director at Innovations, sees his company on the right path: "We view the decision of entory AG as confirmation that we haven`t only developed a first class Business Rules Management System, but with our graphical modeling approach are satisfying a need that our competitors are not able to meet. With entory we are happy to have found a strong and competent partner."
