Towards Modern, lean Administration

At the Ärztekammer Westfalen-Lippe (Physicians' Chamber of Westphalia-Lippe), OVSoftware and inubit are implementing a process-oriented service portal for internet-based, efficient communication with doctors.

Berlin, 07/21/2011 -

The Ärztekammer Westfalen-Lippe (ÄKWL) has decided to use a web portal based on the inubit Suite to speed up processing of their wide range of tasks. With this step, ÄKWL is modernizing its entire IT strategy and thus responding to the new challenges facing a modern administration. The first task to be handled by the inubit portal is the accreditation of training providers. ÄKWL managing director Dr. Michael Schwarzenau: “The members of our chamber, i.e. the doctors, profit from flexible service times, shorter processing times and improved service thanks to freed-up capacities. This enables us to handle the increasing complexity of the operations as well as the increasing volume of work in a way that benefits our staff.”

While in the past ÄKWL’s IT applications and processes were continuously adapted to current circumstances, the IT infrastructure is now reaching its limits due to qualitative and quantitative changes to work requirements. To avoid increasing costs due an expanding workforce, the web and service portal based on the inubit Suite is to be used to adapt IT applications to achieve greater process automation and improved accessibility for members of the chamber and the general public.

OVSoftware GmbH, one of inubit’s partners, is playing a major role in the on-site implementation of the project. After the introduction of the new technology platform and the implementation of the first business application by winter, the Ärztekammer Westfalen-Lippe will significantly expand its use of the inubit Suite over the coming years to use more of its automation potential and to further improve workflow efficiency. “Fast, dynamic and, most importantly, transparent processes are crucial for customer satisfaction,” notes Henrik Dahl, Managing Director of OVSoftware GmbH, in summing up the benefits.

Location- and time-independent, secure cooperation between doctors, the chamber and third parties

The first step will be the automation of the processes required for accreditation of training providers. Additional tasks of the physicians’ chamber, such as the electronic registration, deregistration and transfer of doctors, the administration of further training, the training account as well as the rule-based assessment for the disposition will be opened for the customer and automated in a process-specific way. To create a new platform that is as open and flexible as possible, applicable IT standards such as BPMN, Web Services, eGovernment, XML, digital signatures and additional security standards are applied to all implementation levels. The new portal is secure. Personal data is handled confidentially and protected against unauthorized access by using several interlocking, modern security mechanisms.
