ServicePower has selected Bosch technology to deliver an enhanced machine-to-machine (M2M) solution to field service organizations. The M2M technology allows clients with IP-enabled devices to initiate intelligent field events.
With the prevalence of machines and devices connected to the Internet, the future of field service operations is rapidly changing, challenging operation managers to derive value from machine data in real time. M2M technologies can be used to collect, analyze and share information, such as on the status of machines and field resources, to proactively schedule field events including maintenance, repair and inspections. “An intelligent M2M technology for field-based operations can deliver significant improvements in workforce productivity and machine utilization,” says Matthew Jennings, Managing Director Bosch Software Innovations for the Americas. “Understanding how remote assets and data interact with each other is essential and the true value of this technology.”
Bosch Software Innovations’ Suite encompassing M2M, Business Process and Business Rules Management interfaces to fielded sensors at ServicePower client sites. The collected data is then wirelessly sent to ServicePower’s Smart Services software where it forms a unified view of operations that can be used for analysis, forecasting, resources allocation, planning and timely decision making.
“The Bosch software platform with its M2M capabilities empowers us to further innovate the field service industry,” says Marne Martin, CEO of ServicePower. “Our extended technology enables our clients to achieve business excellence by transitioning their business model from reactive to proactive – this is key to long-term efficiency, profitability and customer retention.”
